Innovation Works improves Baltimore’s neighborhood economies through the launch and growth of sustainable social enterprises. Led by neighborhood entrepreneurs using insights from their lived experiences, these social enterprises aim to reduce Baltimore’s neighborhood, racial, and wealth divides. IGNITE Hubs

IGNITE by IW partners with trusted community anchors (Ignite Hubs) to build a network of long-term entrepreneur development hubs at a neighborhood level. Through Ignite Hubs, IW delivers social enterprise programming that ignites and develops local interest and capacity to transform neighborhood economies.

IW Mentor Network

The Mentor Network is a diverse group of accomplished leaders with the common goal of sharing their expertise with the next generation of Baltimore entrepreneurs. This group of connected trusted advisors was modeled after the Miller Center mentor network and plays a critical role in the IW mission. IW mentors support aspiring and established social enterprise leaders across the city. Not only do they draw on the expertise of their local fellow mentors, but they also become a part of the global Miller Center mentor network.

IW Boost Program

June 18 - June 20, 2019

The IW Boost program, modeled after the GSBI Boost, is a powerful three-day workshop for existing nonprofits, businesses, and social enterprises seeking to strengthen their social impact and financial sustainability strategies.

In mid-June, 51 talented individuals from 28 aspiring organizations will come together for the inaugural Boost program. Participants will learn how to employ practical business skills through the strategic lens of social enterprise with the goal of maximizing their effectiveness in their community as well as their ability to become self-sufficient.
